Saturday, April 8 at 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Come down to Oakland Cemetery’s Beaumont Allen Greenhouse and pick from a wide range of blooms, heirloom specimens, and unique plants during the Spring Plant Sale.
Attendees will find many ornamental shrubs and perennials, including a wide selection of pollinator-friendly choices, as well as unusual tender plants for your home, patio, or balcony. This year we will offer many heirloom tomatoes, other select veggies, and tasty herbs.
Free Demonstration: Gardening in Containers
Gardener Andrew Johnson, who has created the often-complemented garden containers around Oakland Cemetery’s Bell Tower, will show attendees how to replicate this beauty at home. The demonstration includes tips and tricks to use whether you’re using potted herbs outside of the kitchen door, striking flowers for the patio, or plants for a balcony.
Cash, check and credit cards are accepted. Because we do not have carts, be sure to bring your own method to transport your plants safely home! All proceeds from the plant sale benefit the gardens at Oakland Cemetery. Every dollar raised during the plant sale will go directly toward purchasing tools, equipment, more bulbs and trees for our gardens team and volunteers.
Our knowledgeable staff and volunteers will help you find the perfect plant for your home or garden. Historic Oakland Foundation Members can get first pick of inventory at a special Members Pre-Sale Event on Friday, April 7.
