The Harvest Hunt

Gather a group of friends for a day of post-Thanksgiving sleuthing on this self-guided scavenger hunt throughout historic Oakland Cemetery!

The Harvest Hunt will take place on Thanksgiving weekend. No reservations are required to participate, simply purchase your Harvest Hunt packet (1 per team) at the Visitors Center & Museum Shop (open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and follow cryptic clues to solve riddles.

The Harvest Hunt packet ($20) includes one self-guided tour map ($5 value) that can be used on return visits. All proceeds from The Harvest Hunt benefit Historic Oakland Foundation’s mission to preserve, restore, enhance, and share Oakland Cemetery. Harvest Hunt packets can only be purchased Nov. 24-26.

Teams who get all the answers correct will be entered into a drawing for select prizes. Teams that submit their answers sheets with all answer correct are entered into the drawing. Six winners* will be selected to win the following prizes: 

  • Four (4) tickets to 2018’s Capturing the Spirit of Oakland Halloween Tours ($120 value)
  • Four (4) tickets to 2018’s Love Stories of Oakland tours ($50 value)
    • Tickets can be used at any 2018 offering of Love Stories of Oakland and can be used in pairs.
  • Four (4) tickets to 2018’s Malts & Vaults of Oakland: Where Beer Meets History ($50 value)
    • Tickets can be used at any 2018 offering of Malts & Vaults of Oakland, and can be used in pairs.
  • One Family Membership ($75 value)

*Two winners will be selected for the Love Stories and Malts & Vaults prizes

To be eligible to win, completed answer sheets must be returned to the Visitors Center by 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26. Be sure to complete the contact form in your Harvest Hunt packet to ensure you’ll be contacted if you win!
