May is National Historic Preservation Month, and Historic Oakland Foundation’s Preservation, Restoration, and Operations (PRO) Team offers a look at the historic preservation work happening at Oakland Cemetery. This tour will last roughly one hour and covers current restoration efforts in four areas of Oakland. The PRO Team will discuss wall rebuilding, historic mortar pointing and headstone resetting and repair in the African American Grounds, Jewish Hill, Roger’s Hill and Memorial Drive pedestrian entryway.
This tour is free and open to the public, and no reservations are required.
