Inspired by the Victorian tradition of spending a leisurely day in the cemetery, Oakland’s iconic Sunday in the Park ft. Tunes from the Tombs festival blends live music, history, and family fun in one unique experience. Whether you’re a history buff, live music lover, or just here for the vibes, you won’t want to miss Oakland’s most special Sunday of the year!

Oakland Cemetery is easy to get to by bike, public transit, or rideshare. We’ll have a bike valet available for cyclists. Taking MARTA? King Memorial Station is only a 7-10 minute walk from our Main Gate. From the station:
Exit to Decatur Street and head west (left) to Grant Street
Turn left on Grant Street and continue to Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SE
Turn left onto MLK Jr. Drive — the main gates will be straight ahead
Rideshare is strongly encouraged. Limited street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood. Please note: our visitor parking lot will be reserved for artists and vendors.

Sunday in the Park is a rain or shine event. In the event of severe weather, we will notify ticketholders of any event or schedule changes via email and social media.
Ticket purchases support Historic Oakland Foundation’s mission to preserve, restore, enhance, and share Oakland Cemetery and are not refundable.

Sunday in the Park hails from the historical tradition of revering the dead by celebrating life! Before cities built public parks, cemeteries often acted as local green spaces— places for picnics, music, and recreation.

As Sunday in the Park is a permitted event within a City of Atlanta Park, the following regulations apply:
Pets are not permitted (with the exception of service animals)
Outside food & drink is not permitted
Smoking is not permitted
